It takes me 5-6 hours to write a article ( more than 2000 words), then 20 minutes I spend creating images and optimizing the content which plays an important role to take my blog post up on Google search. Blogging Nuts is not a very authoritative domain but it receives 51% organic traffic.
What you will learn in after reading this post:
How to Improve Website SEO?
How to Boost Your Website on Google?
How to Improve SEO Score?
How to Optimize Search Engine Results?
How to Increase Search Ranking?
People don’t always remember your brand for solution, they simply search on Google and well optimized post comes to first page.
Over 90% of online experiences start with a search, front page of Google search result shows which website is performing well and other getting bankrupt. Performance of website is actually a result of SEO game performed or well or not.
But do you know what is SEO?
I m sure every online marketer is aware of SEO, it stands for search engine optimization. But how to optimize search engine results I means what should we optimize? or what get optimized?
Shall we optimize the design? the content? or the referring links maybe?
It’s 3 time yes. Each one of them are optimized to get Google better ranking.
Now starting from beginning.
What is SEO?
After searching on Google I got following result.
Let me explain it further:
The search engine, searcher and content all are related to each other. For example, I wrote a post on how to track invalid AdSense click using StatCounter, I will always want the search engine to show it display it at top of search result if anyone searches related to it.
SEO is homework you need to do on your every post, this is a prime way to increase search ranking of any website.
Improving website’s SEO is important as the first 5 results in Google get 67% of all clicks. I think now you must have understood the importance of SEO.
But knowing the importance is not enough, you need to know how search engine works, Brian Dean founder of Backlinko did a great job and listed 200 Google Ranking Factor, understanding and applying will for sure boost your website on Google.
There are many ways to increase SEO, white hat and black hat SEO are the main categories, and you need to choose yours, right now.
White Hat Vs. Black Hat

I am just elaborating above infographic.
Every destination has two path, long and short. Each one has its own pros and cons.
If you have a thought of a get-rich-quick scheme, you may choose black hat SEO.
Black hat SEO includes optimizing the content just for the search engine, after clicking people end up saying “why I clicked on it”. With this approach people are happy for short time and earn some dollars fast.
Ironically, this tricks has great scope of getting your site banned and ruining overall ranking.
But if you keep an eye on Google algorithm updates and applying it continuously, your black hat SEO will keep working.
On the other hand, White hat SEO technique build long term business. This increases touch ability with humans, increases human audience and make people know you by brand.
On Page SEO & Off Page SEO
On page SEO apply on content and concern all of of Google’s ranking factors like title, sub titles and page structure but before it is published.
Off page SEO start once the post is published and it is not in your own hands and primarily depend on other website such as social networks and other blogs in your niche.
No doubt both are not same but at last they help to improve website SEO and increase website ranking.
No need to get confused, I will explain you why both are conscious for improving SEO of your blog.
Let’s say you have travel business and have many cabs for tourist.
Imagine below two scenarios:
Scenario 1: The cab is super clean inside, but looks very rickety from outside.
Will people come to sit inside cab? I don’t think so. You are sure the cab is well maintained inside but by looking it’s condition from outside people will hesitate to hire it.
Same condition applies to your blog content, even if your content is great, look attractive and On page optimization is done well but if no one gives you credit or link it on their blog post, something wrong is going to happen then.
There must someone to refer to your beautiful content, else it is useless and finally goes to Google graveyard.
Now the second scenario.
Scenario 2: The body of car is brand new, but inside your car is a mess.
This is just opposite of above scenario. People will love to hire it but after hiring once, I don’t think they will hire it ever.
They’ll leave quicker than you can pronounce SEO.
When a visitor leaves a website after viewing only one page it is called as bounce rate and this factor put down your website performance on search engine.
These are reasons for doing both On page SEO and Off page SEO.
To make the post short and brief I will not elaborate Off page SEO here. I will write a separate updated post on it soon.
On Page SEO
Before this post I wrote about on page SEO but I just want to elaborate it here more. It mainly have 3 big categories.
This is the most important part of blogging, without content what can we optimize? nothing, so “Content is king” but without proper On page SEO it is nothing and useless.
In 1996, Bill Gates predicted this.

There is a reason behind this quote.
A person is happy with Google if he get the solution on the search result.
When you google “how to improve SEO of website”, Google will apply all its algorithms to find the best possible content which teaches you ways to improve SEO.
Google doesn’t look for easy or easiest way but it will fetch best content for you. It may take little time.
Since I started noticing, Google always gave me best possible solution by showing the greatest content on search result.
Finally, the content is king again and again. The internet marketers producing great content will always book their position on first page of search result.
Big SEO effort is needed to support great content. Both of them must be of their level, most advanced SEO is useless for normal content.
Factors to produce great content
1.1 – Quality
Starting with quality content is still a great idea to rank higher and win the heart of visitor. For creating better content you have to think like guide or teacher, so that people understand your content easily with short time.
You can create the same content others produced but make sure it should be better than before like an update of it.
Include your own ideas into pre-produced strategy and include all the important ingredients of great content into your article.
Write like a Human being.
Your content and all strategies are useless if you create content that sounds like a robot wrote it.
Write good stuffs, people love to read conversation type of content rather a robotic one.
1.2 – Keyword research
This is most crucial step to complete before you start writing the post. You need to aware of keyword competition, it helps you to rank higher than your competitor.
Since the same keyword you will include in your post title,URL and throughout the article to optimize it, I suggest you to choose your keyword before starting to write.
For doing keyword research you can use Google Keyword Planner (free) or Long Tail Pro (paid). Before sometime I wrote a post to find low competition keyword using Long Tail Pro.
You can also refer Hubspot’s keyword research guide for beginners.
Among all the On page SEO factors, I spend most of my time to do proper keyword research and consequently I am getting majority traffic through search result. Here is a Backlinko’s complete guide to keyword research.
1.3 – Use of keywords
Where and how many times to use the targeted keywords?
Earlier were the days of stuffing the target keywords and getting better Google ranking, now these doesn’t work and instead will hurt your rankings.
Now Google has become more smarter and works on LSI keywords. You can use synonyms of target keywords. It will surely your blog SEO score and ranking.
But make sure the target keyword are included at title, URL and meta description.
1.4 – Freshness of content
Some days back I wrote article for reducing bounce rate and mentioned that blogs updated regularly are ranked better on search engine.
Bloggers assume, posting new content is a signal for freshness. But there are more options you can make your blog appear updated. You can update your already published post.
For example, internet marketer Brian Dean from Backlinko, do not post much content but keep them updated by including new ideas into same post. Yet his blog receives a good amount of traffic.
It doesn’t mean you rewrite single for one year, you can publish one post once a month. Google loves in-depth content.
1.5 – Direct answers
If your content is detailed enough, then latest updates provides searchers with direct answers. If you content contain exact answer to searcher’s queries, it will display snippet of post at top of search result.
People using less jargon see good organic traffic and I am saying they are on right track.
Read this guide by Moz which helps you perform well with direct answer.
Once you created a evergreen content, next you should have a understanding of basic HTML. Every professional blogger is not a professional coder but it is necessary for them to know it’s basics.
For driving a car you shouldn’t be a mechanic but knowing the traffic rules are necessary.
For each post you need to optimize 4 parts of HTML.
2.1 – Title (heading)
Title is the most important line of any post as it only appear on the search engine results.
The title is actually represented by h1 tag, first heading of any topic.
Experts says a post must contain only one h1 tag and rest h2, h3, h4 and so on.
2.2 – Meta description
Meta descriptions are post snippet shown on search engine result beneath the title. It helps visitor to predict content of your post without reading it.
I suggest, do not exceed 160 characters and include your target keyword within it else after this point character get invisible.
You can check out some good examples and write better meta description which directly improve SEO of website.
2.3 – Sub titles
If the content is divided into sub headings, it increases the readability of the content. The sub heading are considered as one of the 7 things every great landing page needs.
Using sub heading make your content user friendly but also make the post look attractive and affects the SEO even.
If we compare heading tags SEO importance, h1 is most affective followed by h2, h3, h4, h5 and h6. And WordPress is the best platform to provide these facilities already implemented.
2.4 – Use keywords in your images
To improve SEO with Google include keywords that reflect your site topic in the image title, description, and alt attributes.
Also, re-title the file name if it doesn’t reflect your main keywords (e.g. improve-website-seo.png instead of image2.png).
3 – Architecture of Theme
This is the last part of On page SEO. This may be something hard to configure but its all ready made now such as good navigation and mobile friendliness. It helps a lot to improve SEO rankings.
A better structure of website gives visitor a returning back experience.
For getting better ranking you need to help search engine in following way:
3.1 – Easy to crawl
Search engine have spiders crawling the new content once published, search engine like Google always desire to provide up to date content to searcher. And website with good navigation links get this first than others.
You can also help Google by linking XML sitemap of your blog at bottom. You can use this WordPress plugin to generate XML sitemap.
To see a crawl in action, you can use this tool.
3.2 – Duplicate content
Before coming to blogosphere I was not aware about myths of duplicate content, people said Google penalizes the website with same content. So I always created 100% unique content.
It was just a myths.
Matt Cutts explain re-posting your content websites won’t hurt the SEO of website unless it is done to spam content.
For an instance, if you re-post your post content to some domain, having high domain authority (DA) than yours, here Google will index it faster due to DA difference. This way it may affect website SEO.
You can take help of 301 redirects, to handle duplicate content.
3.3 – Mobile friendliness site
I recommend you to check with Google’s tool, is you website mobile friendly?
Yes. Great you are doing good.
No. You’re loosing your 50% traffic. Because people don’t carry their laptop while traveling and other important places. They use their mobile to get their solutions.
These days almost every WordPress theme is mobile friendly and if by chance it is not, install a plugin to take care of it.
3.4 – Page speed
I don’t open the website that take longer than 4 s, I don’t care how popular it is. I am sure you, me and every blogger likely do the same. You can use good SEO website design to increase your website speed.
In the 20th century, people say time is money and so site with extra loading time can absolutely kill your conversions.
3.5 – Keywords in URLs
I recommend you to use easy URL structure, visitor find it easy to remember.
3.6 – Secure http (HTTPS) and SSL
Google on its official BlogSpot clearly announced https a ranking signal.
If you’re moving your domain to secure http or SSL, for ranking signal its worth now.
If you just to start blogging, I recommend to buy domain with SSL. It is not that much costly.
3.7 – Better stick with one domain
The age of your URL is a ranking factor in Google’s algorithm, so be patient.
If you’re your domain name frequently, I ensure you’ll always be a loser. Here are 7 reasons why older site rank better than newer site?
