For a long time Google AdSense had been a most popular way of monetizing the website for newbie and intermediate bloggers. Unfortunately, my AdSense Application rejected for first time and I learned some lessons to get it approved later. Below are some special corrections you can do before you apply for AdSense account.
After reading this article I ensure you get the answers of following queries.
Why AdSense rejected my application?
I applied for AdSense with utmost care but what else I missed and my google AdSense application rejected?
#1-AdSense application details
The details which you fill in the AdSense application must be 100% correct and complete. Fill out your name very consciously because the name that you provide during signup would be considered as your Payee Name and you will receive the payment in checks on the Payee Name and address once you reach minimum threshold of payment. So you always provide the name which shows on your bank account. The same apply with the address. You will receive the check via courier on this address. I told you to fill out the Payee name correctly as you will not get more chance to edit this, however, address can be edited.
During signup process provide you website URL in proper format like www.bloggingnuts.com or bloggingnuts.com, the same you provided while installing WordPress. The URL you provide must be correct as AdSense team reviews your website. The AdSense team also review the content on your site and checks whether your website follows their policy or not. So you provide the correct website URL, because if AdSense team does not find your website, no way you will approval for AdSense.
So it’s up to you only how carefully you fill out the details, I suggest you to re-check you details before submitting your application for AdSense. After submitting your AdSense application it take 2-3 working days for them to review your website, sometimes it may take long or sooner, and within this period you get a chance to maintain your website more appropriately like quality content and website Design. In my case it was reviewed within 2 days and approved.
Google provide you the reason why AdSense application rejected, and this is the best chance to overcome limitations of your website. The AdSense policy says the website with pirated content is not allowed to display AdSense ads. So if your website contain unique content, chances for approval is more else it is hard to get.
This is the problem with most newbies, they think making money online from home is easy. They have a mind set of copy paste method to generate content. But I want to tell them once Google straightaway ban these sites once notices.
For all search engines especially to Google copied post from another website are just garbage which may lead the site to removed from search results.
If AdSense team finds your website’s content is pirated. Then, they clearly mention it on the denied email you receive from them.
Page type problem can be if your website contains the content (adult) that is against AdSense Policies. Most time AdSense application rejected, because website has very little content. I know it may be a start for you but not for advertiser and so not enough to satisfy AdSense. And for such issue they give you reason insufficient content.
For many countries in the world AdSense has set up minimum age for website to apply for Google AdSense, i.e., your website should be minimum six months old and should have quality content. This policy is set up so that website get more traffic and acquire enough content to publish ads on them. But your website have unique content and enough traffic before this period, you can submit your AdSense application early too as for one of my domain I got AdSense approved within 12 days of domain registration. But for another domain my AdSense application denied 2 times and still not got approved. Finally, it is approved now.
Never violate the policies of AdSense.
#4-poor navigation issues
Poor navigation of your website can be one reason why was your AdSense application rejected. Website that has links or buttons but does not redirect them to any page can be said to suffering with navigation issues.
I mean visitors doesn’t feel hard to find information on your site. If you’re using WordPress then many plugins comes to make your site navigate easily.
#5-under construction sites
Your AdSense application rejected because most of the time your site may be under construction. AdSense team does not approve your AdSense application if they find your website incomplete. Under construction site are straightway rejected by them. But some time AdSense team is provide leverage on this, I got AdSense approval within 12 days of registering domain , you can think how a person can complete his site within this time period.
But I suggest you to apply for AdSense after your site are complete. “It is better to wait out than get out.”
#6-submit your sitemap to Google
If you do not submit sitemap to Google, Google bot will not be able to find your website and crawl your website URLs. This becomes the last and major reason of AdSense application rejection. I would recommend you to submit the sitemap on the same day you create your first post and I ensure you within 10 days of domain registration you can have AdSense with 25-30 unique articles.
AdSense supports only little language which is spoken most; you can check language support at AdSense Supported Languages. For Indian blogger it is good news that now AdSense is applicable to Hindi website also. You can’t anything if your AdSense application rejected because of unsupported language.
So getting AdSense for the website is not that easy as many newbie thinks.
The success of blog is measured by number of comments and organic traffic it receives. So Google loves organic traffic i.e visitors directly by search engine. If you are generating traffic by paying to some company then Google may penalizes you and there is not a damn chance of getting approved by AdSense. I would suggest you to try to get organic traffic.
The Google AdSense is never approved for website that get traffic from illegal sources. So if you want to earn with AdSense then organic traffic is must.
You can generate organic by using long tail keywords. There are many tools to generate long tail keywords such as Long Tail Pro and Sembrush.
#9-too new domain
This is the reason rarely happens but sometime Google doesn’t spare you.
Below is brief of an email sent by the AdSense review team to a blogger who tried to apply for AdSense just after one day old domain and see what he got.
*Your domain must have been registered and active for at least 6 months before you apply for AdSense.
I think I don’t have to explore the above lines as it is self explanatory. I suggest you to apply after a month with suitable number of articles to get sure approval.
The blogging is all about generating useful content only.
Why we have blog? to provide information to visitors only.
When after completing the first step i.e. signing up for AdSense you’re moved to second step i.e. where website is reviewed by Google employees.
Do you ever know what they see? Answer – the enough content.
Before applying for AdSense ask yourself Will your website be able to help the visitors? So keep enough number of articles on your website. I would suggest to have 20-25 articles, it assure you to get approval otherwise you get below mail.
#11-poor quality content
Be aware Google AdSense is top most ad serving network and it never spare breaking its policies. So AdSense accept only high quality content. The type of knowledge which people find worth to spend their time.
If you really want to get approved then start creating quality content at least till the time you don’t get approval.
By quality content I mean content by which people get something to know.
#12-adult or inappropriate content
The Google want people to provide content that can be presented publicly. Although some content are valuable for specific people but may not be presented publicly. Below is the list of content categories not accepted by Google AdSense.
Sales of Beer/Hard Alcohol
Sales of Endangered Species
Sales of Weapons/Ammunition
Sales/Distribution of Schoolwork
Any Other Illegal Stuff
Now you decide. Do you want AdSense or above content?
#13-malware infected site
If your site is malware infected then there is no chance of getting AdSense programs, not all but some persons intentionally do this activity to steal confidential from readers system and misuse it illegally.
These person may also do this for fun.
I ensure people with these website get their AdSense application rejected without any delay.
But mostly chances are people (who don’t do intentionally) don’t know their site contain malware but become victims. Google doesn’t accept this just to maintain its name and fame in terms of security.
#14-poor quality traffic
As I mentioned above also Google relies on less but natural traffic. The traffic which comes from reasonable sources. You just don’t make your site for AdSense or Affiliate, first readers should have interest on your content and I am sure earning you start getting automatically.
When your site has less bounce rate and increase average spent time on your site, it means you are getting organic traffic.
#16-no terms of services page
Having TOS page ensure your maturity and awareness of legal requirement to run a website. Every advertisement want to work these types of site and Google is not any exception. Having a TOS page on your site shows that you are aware of the legal requirements you have to comply with when running your site. This is the type of website owner Google wants to work with.
It will help to you get AdSense easily.
#17-website design not user friendly
If the design of website is simple then every visitors love it, making it more user friendly. If the design is too complex it may affect your site following ways:
Visitors never returns
In case you get AdSense approved but will not earn much.
So if you don’t want to get your AdSense application rejected and earn more, spend some time in designing your website for every level of user.
I don’t refer you buy expensive theme. There are many free theme which are very beautiful but premium are best.
#18-applying for AdSense with friends site
Till this step I assume your AdSense application rejected once or more.
When you apply for AdSense Google assume you’re the owner of website. But if you try to apply with friends site and don’t have access to it then how will add the code for second step? And if you don’t ad code how they will review your site?
I did this mistake, I applied AdSense for my college website but I was not having access.
you can apply with any website but do have credentials with you.
#19-your age is below 18
To enter into any contract you must be 18 years old. Google AdSense is contract only and it want their partner to be eligible. I think this is the minimum age in most countries when a person can enter into legally binding contracts.
If case you’re under 18 make your email id with wrong date of birth.
#20-using hosted platform
When Google started AdSense, people with subdomain like domain.BlogSpot.com or domain.word press.com were able to get AdSense approved easily.
But now it is not that easy for self hosted domain also. People are struggling for months and doesn’t it approved.
But don’t be sad top level domain are considered to add more weight while reviewing process.
#21-ads from other networks
Google have certain written guidelines for accepting your application but they also have some non published guidelines which actually depends on reviewer. And who likes the site with more number of ads.
So if you don’t want your AdSense application rejected then please remove all ads before send your application. You can re-apply other ads once it is approved.
This is not really big issue and faced by bloggers hosting their sites on low price hosting services. This doesn’t create much problem as server are down only for 5-10 minutes.
When after completing the first step of process, reviewer try to view your site but if it doesn’t open up how the reviewer is going to see your site.
Solutions – Simple, just re-apply.
I suggest to have reliable hosting such as Dreamhost.
#24-selling illegal products
If your site is selling some products that are not legal such as pirated one, then I am saying stay away from AdSense, you will never be approved of it.
To work with AdSense get original.
#25-you’re forcing visitors to click on ads
If you’re acting more smart and displaying banner directing users to click on the upcoming ads, it is very practice and Google is never going to award you.
Even if you do this after getting AdSense approved they will ban you. Remember Google has very smart algorithm to detect these types invalid activities.
Google wants loyal relationship with publishers and advertisers.
#26-you’re previously blacklisted
This one is most difficult to overcome. If you were accepted sometime back but due to any violation was banned, this is your lifetime punishment.
You get new domain and create another email with different name (recommended) make sure you don’t have the bank account with same name. And most important do it by different system (changing IP address).
It works…my friends are doing it.
After reading this exclusive reasons I don’t think anyone would fail to get AdSense approved.
Again if AdSense application rejected then don’t worry Reapply for Adsense, many top got it approved after dozen of tries.
Did I missed anything?
I tried my best to put each and every possible to fault making your AdSense application rejected. If you experienced more, please let me know by comments I would love to add it on my list.
